today is a very special day...
TODAY is my parents' 30th anniversary. wow, huh? i was thinking that i should write a special blog entry about it, but my sister wrote one that is far superior to anything i could write. so i'll direct you to that entry, and say DITTO. (i told her i'd do that....wasn't kidding..!!)in any case, i love my parents and am so happy for them -- and i have also learned a lot from their marriage; i'm only 1 1/2 years into my marriage, and so i draw on those lessons frequently. my marriage is everything i've ever dreamed of, but it all takes some adjusting.
things i've learned from mis padres:
-- even when things are difficult, a commitment to stay together can help you work through anything
-- remaining wildly and passionately in love is important for your well being and that of your marriage
-- even when you think you're doing everything right, it's important to remember that it's how your spouse perceives your love that counts
-- better to argue and discuss than to let pain and disagreements fester.
