i know you've seen this picture before: the famed Blue bell ice cream. well i'm not done talking about it.

here's spencer enjoying his chocolate brownie overload. we took our ice cream to a mexican place for dinner, and here were are on the patio enjoying it.

this is the deliciousness of my banana pudding ice cream. yummmm. please note the nilla wafer pieces. wow that was good.
here i am enjoying it:

and the last of all the texas pictures; here's some of my dinner that night, at the mexican place --

and in other news, the hubby and i are getting ready to renew our contracts w/
verizon. despite the dropped calls. we've determined that NO ONE has good service in our home (as we live in a basement), and we like everything else about verizon. so we're about 99% sure on that. and my big decision is what phone to get. i'm thinking about
this one. does anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with the motorola RAZR? i'd love to hear.

my husband took me for a nice lunch date today - we went
here.
it was really nice to sit down just the two of us - without any computers or music or anything.
let's get back to the texas summary, shall we?
mmmmm, blue bell ice cream. this needs to come to utah. i'm writing letters, don't worry.

they also had R2-D2 mailboxes - my husband said we've got them in SLC, too, but I'VE never seen one. so we had to take a picture.

what is this picture of? i have several of them. a bug? a dead flower?

and now, a hippopotamus sculpture. we went to see a garden w/
Charles Umlauf's sculptures. it was fabulous.

called

my husband did a
lot of this

(up there, we're at the capitol)
and here's one more shot of my hubby, we're at a garden in austin. :)

people, there is more to come. if you can stand it.

back again
people, i've been a bad blogger. there's just no two ways about it.
one of my most faithful readers (that is, my mother-in-law) mentioned that i hadn't been blogging since i'd been feeling well. it's true! i have been reading blogs, and i have *thought* about blogging. but....there is SO MUCH TO DO! and i can do so much more these days! ah, it's a fabulous world. i feel like i'm on top of the world. it's a kind of happiness i can hardly explain......it's like i've been given my life back. that probably sounds over-dramatic, but really - it's a very apt description.
so i need to catch you all up here -- first, my pink hair -- it's faded a LOT, but here's a picture of it the week i had it done. high quality, of course, since i took it of myself, you know it's going to be good. ;)

i'll avoid any commentary about my appearance.... moving on!
the shorts i told you about? here's a picture of them on me - they're actually looser than they look, this makes them look tapered (shudder) near the knee; they're not.

and finally a little bit of a texas recap (this is going to have to take place over a few entries..) one of the places we went to eat was
Chris Madrid's, in san antonio.it's a complete hole-in-the-wall, and there are t-shirts all over the wall, signed by various famous people who've eaten there. they are listed as one of AOL's 15 burgers to try before you die, and people, it just might kill you. they are FABULOUS burgers, and delicious....mostly i speak of the grease factor. ;) here's spencer's burger - he got a jalepeno cheeseburger, macho sized. i got his hand in there so you could get an idea of the massive size of this burger --

i had a 'normal' sized burger -- and it was pretty humongous as well. here's a shot of him taking his first bite -

and the deliciousness in the middle (note the jalepenos)

and here is the remains; what could not be finished. (i should note here that i did finish my burger).

wow. if you're ever nearby, you must try it. it's an experience not to be forgotten.

hello friends!
we're visiting Austin, and i'm loving it. we had lunch at Rudy's - delicious barBQ. and then this evening, we went to the capitol. we were walking around, when 2 guys (about our age, mid-early 20s) come up to us and says 'hey man, would you take our picture?'
i kind of laugh and say, 'gee i wonder why they asked YOU' -- my
husband is a hobbyist photographer, and was carrying one of those SLRs around his neck at the time.
he comes back and says, they asked you first. i say, what? he says, they called you ma'am.
and i said -- i've never been called a ma'am before. (true story)
spencer says 'you're in Texas.'
welcome to the south, baby!
